February 3, 2026, Homicide Investigation

On February 3, 2026, at approximately 4:19 p.m., the Fremont Police Department received multiple 911 calls of a shooting that occurred in the area of Central Avenue and Joseph Street. Patrol officers responded immediately and arrived on scene within minutes.
 
Officers located one victim on the ground and rendered trauma care. The victim later succumbed to their injuries. This remains a very active investigation. Fremont Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit has assumed the investigation.
 
This is Fremont’s second homicide in 2026.
