Biography

Captain Jared Morrison was promoted in December 2024 and currently leads the Administrative Operations Division.  

Prior to serving as Captain, Jared Morrison served as a lieutenant from 2021 and was assigned to the Special Operations division where managed the Crimes Against Persons Investigative unit, General Crimes Investigative unit, the Major Crimes Task Force, the Strategic Intelligence unit, the School Resource Officer program, and the court Liaison position.  Captain Morrison is a second-generation Fremont police officer and a native to Fremont. Jared joined the Fremont Police Department in 2001 and was promoted to sergeant in 2014. Captain Morrison was a team leader, K-9 officer, and semi-permanent detective within the Major Crimes Task Force. Captain Morrison was also a range instructor, EVOC instructor, and field training officer. Upon being promoted to sergeant, he served as a patrol supervisor, range master, and detective sergeant. As a lieutenant, Jared managed the departments’ range program, emergency vehicle operations program (EVOC), K9 unit, community cameras, and serves as the Fremont Police Managers Association president, .

Captain Morrison has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications from Cal State Hayward, obtained a Masters’ degree in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego, and graduated from the FBI National Academy (NA 285). 

Jared enjoys living an active lifestyle with his family to include; camping, hiking, wake surfing, snowboarding, and working out.
