Fremont Police Department has six K9/handler teams, four German Shepherds and two Bloodhounds, used in Patrol, SWAT operations, Narcotics, and Tracking (trailing). The K9 teams are put through continuous training and compete in annual competitions, and their services are often requested and utilized by outside agencies.
