Important Notice on City of Fremont Facilities Closure

In an effort to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), City of Fremont facilities, including the lobby of the Police Department, the Detention Facility, and the Tri-City Animal Shelter, will be closed to public visitors beginning Monday, March 16 through Tuesday, March 31, 2020. During the temporary closure Fremont Police and Fire will continue to provide essential public safety services.  For more information, please refer to the City of Fremont's web page on coronavirus (COVID-19) here

Responsible for all public affairs, the Community Engagement Unit’s mission is to strengthen community partnership and civic life. We work together with neighbors and business owners to deter crime and increase social capital. The Unit manages several programs within the Fremont Police Department:

  • Crime Prevention: Crime Free Multi-Housing (CFMH), Business Crime Watch, Neighborhood Crime Watch
  • Kids Activities: Building Bridges School Assemblies, Pre-School Visits, PD Building Tours
  • Community Events: Safety Fair, Coffee with a Cop, Badges and Boba, and National Night Out
  • Permits: Alarm, Film, Places of Entertainment (POE), and High Impact Special Events
