Our unit’s mission is to guide and support Fremont’s intelligence-led policing (ILP) model. The use of analysis and intelligence is foundational to all levels of objective decision making. ILP prioritizes crime hot spots, repeat victims, prolific offenders and criminal groups.1 Our analysis guides the deployment of resources; leads enforcement activities on the most serious offenders; and informs coordinated strategies to prevent, reduce and disrupt criminal activity. While the primary goal of ILP is crime reduction, equally important to the Fremont Police Department is the building of public trust and legitimacy. We believe through the use of objective analysis and community supported technologies, our crime prevention and investigative practices will instill public confidence and increase community safety.

Our unit consists of a professional manager, an analyst and two detectives. We work hand in hand with our Special Investigations Unit by analyzing the crime issues and identifying serious offenders that drive their daily operations plan.

Real Time Information Center

The Real Time Information Center (RTIC) officially launched on May 6, 2025, serving as a centralized hub where specialized personnel leverage integrated technology resources to address crime.  Through real-time information sharing, the RTIC supports public safety efforts aimed at preventing and reducing crime, delivering efficient and effective police response, and enhancing both community and officer safety.
Their efforts contribute to:

  • Safer interactions between law enforcement and the public
  • Faster identification and apprehension of criminal suspects
  • The timely development of valuable investigative leads

Through collaboration, technology, and intelligence-led policing, the RTIC plays a vital role in strengthening community safety. The RTIC was made possible by the State of California’s BSCC Organized Retail Theft Prevention grant.
