How can I obtain information about my local record?
California Penal Sections 13300 ©(8) and 13320 through 13326 authorizes Police Departments to furnish Clearance Letters for the purpose of citizens obtaining VISA’s for entering the United States or any foreign nation and/or to provide individuals a reasonable opportunity to examine their local record and correct erroneous information for records maintained by the Fremont Police Department.
You must have lived, worked, or gone to school in the city of Fremont or currently live, work, or go to school in the city of Fremont.
Requests can be made in person at the Fremont Police Department lobby with proper photo identification. Fee for local Records Check/Clearance Letter: $16.00
You may also mail in a request for a clearance letter. Please include notarized Clearance Letter Request Form, a legible copy of a valid pictured government issued ID, and a check for $16.00 made payable to the City of Fremont.
