Citizens in Fremont now have the ability to provide non-urgent crime tips through the power of anonymous text messaging, email and web tips.
Dial 9-1-1 in case of an emergency or if you are witnessing an in-progress crime.
Tip services should NOT be used for reporting in-progress criminal activity. Tips are monitored daily, but not on a 24-hour basis and not by the Fremont Police Department's Dispatch Center. In-progress information, where the assistance of a police officer is needed, should be called into our Dispatch center at 790-6800, option 3.

The widespread use of smartphones makes it easy for the public to help law enforcement agencies fight crime. This is not an application for reporting in-progress crimes or suspicious activity. Our tip reporting options are designed as a means to report information about any non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, theft, the sale and distribution of drugs or information about crimes that are being planned in the community or schools.
If you would like to contact the Fremont Police Department to send a tip or photograph, please use our general email account firstname.lastname@example.org. This method is NOT anonymous. Photos or video that are evidence in a crime, need to be accepted in person by a Patrol Officer who can properly accept, report and document the evidence. If you have already filed a report and have new evidence, please contact your original investigating officer and if this is a new report, please call 510-790-6800 X 3 so that we can enter the call for service and assist you.
To report non-urgent information via phone, please contact us via our silent witness hotline at 510-494-4856.
